Fever Dream Radio Fever Dream Radio
Born sometime in September of 2020, Fever Dream Radio lived on WERW Radio, Syracuse University’s only independent student-run radio station. Hosted by Ashley Girouard, it boasted wild, erratic themes, relished in genre whiplash and picked up a loyal pack of weekly listeners. Fever Dream Radio is chaotic, fresh, and outlandish, and loves breaking all the rules.
A few months later, a fan of Fever Dream Radio, Noah Glynn, designed and built a website for streaming audio. The idea was that at any time, anybody in a close group of friends could log on and play their own set, hosted on “Friendship Radio.” Ashley soon began broadcasting Fever Dream shows on both WERW and Friendship Radio.
These days, Fever Dream Radio exists on the foundation of what was once Friendship Radio, extending the collaborative ethos of the platform and continuing to break all the rules while remaining independent. Before this, Fever Dream Radio was a weekly show that could not exist independently, and Friendship Radio operated solely as an architecture for streaming. With the merging of the two, Fever Dream Radio is morphing into a station of its own ,creating a new and innovative music space to connect people and push culture.
